Forensic MMPI-2-RF Comparison Group Data: The impact of Population Characteristics and Demand Characteristics of Forensic Assessments

Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

The MMPI-2-RF Technical Manual and supplemental material include descriptive data (means and standard deviations on the 50 scales of the test) based on large samples of men and women tested in various forensic settings. This paper presents these forensically-relevant comparison group data, available for criminal defendants, prison inmates, personal injury litigants and disability claimants, child custody litigants, and law enforcement and corrections officer candidates, and discusses their use in forensic evaluations. The data are used to examine differences and similarities between the groups, which are likely a function of both the populations involved, and the demand characteristics of the assessments.
