Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

Financial elder exploitation is a common referral at the LACEAFC (73 % of cases). A forensic neuropsychologist is often used in cases of financial exploitation. The purpose of this presentation is to describe the neurocognitive profile of the LACEAFC population and to examine the impact of neuropsychology on the case. Overall, the LACEAFC population is significantly more likely to be impaired (MMSE = 21). Cases are significantly more likely to be filed if they included neuropsychological data (33 % with neuropsych versus 15 % total FC cases). Neuropsychological data can be important evidence in the successful prosecution of financial abuse.
