Abstract:

In the context of dynamically changing the status of cross-border higher education, this study aims to capture the current status of Asian universities’ international programs, their purposes, and the trends of regional partnerships. For this study, two types of questionnaire surveys are conducted: the target of the first questionnaire is 300 “higher education institutions active in cross-border higher education activities” and the target of the second questionnaire is 1,000 “cross-border collaborative degree programs.” Using the results of two types of questionnaire survey, this paper examines the current status of internationalization of higher education in East Asia, prospecting regional integration of higher education in East Asia.
