Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

Private Equity investments have grown constantly over recent years. This study analyzed data from businesses that had received Private Equity funding and had subsequently issued Initial Public Offerings. Standard event study methodology was used, considering the Initial Public Offering of shares as the event. Initially, weekly normal and abnormal returns were analyzed. Additionally, two market indicators were analyzed with the intention of conducting a more complete investigation into the fluctuations in these businesses' market values. Our results show that abnormal returns are greater during the event window than in the ex post period.
