Statistical Techniques for Juror and Jury Research-poster

Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

Statistical techniques for three types of juror/jury research are described and recommendations made for these situations. The situations are: measuring and comparing values for reasonable doubt; modeling two-stage designs like when a juror first makes a decision about negligence and then depending on the decision makes an award; and modeling data from juries as opposed to individual jurors. Recommendations are made for each of these situations. Examples for analyzing data from each of these situations using freely available software will be presented. A CD will be provided to attendees with the datasets, example output (with explanations), and code to run the analyses.
