Non-Independent Multiple Lineup Identifications: Utility with Limited Exposures-poster

Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

The multiple lineup identification procedure has previously produced diagnostic identification evidence. The current experiment tested the procedure using non-independent multiple lineups and limited exposure to the target (e.g., target viewed from only one view). Participants (n = 96) saw videos of targets facing one of four views (face-front, -¾, -profile, or -¼) and were then asked whether the target was present or absent from three lineups (showing face-front, -¾, and -profile views). Overall, as the number of lineup identifications increased, so did the likelihood that the identified person was the target.
