Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

First, historical timelines and rationales for conducting content analyses of sex roles (finding support for feminist claims, comparing sex roles in real life and the media; providing basis for media effects theories, and corroborating effects of sources on media content) are discussed to set up the context for the present. Second, present state of research is reviewed to illuminate literature gaps to be rectified in the future. Finally, suggestions for future research are made.
