Health Communication for Spanish-speakers in the 21st Century: Multi-media Entertainment Education in a Workplace Safety Intervention

Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

An innovative Entertainment Education intervention featured construction safety messages in a Spanish language television drama (telenovela) and PSA and on a related educational website. Survey respondents reported a high level of trust in telenovelas and websites as sources of health information. Tracking data showed a spike in website traffic on the days and at the times the PSA aired. Multi-media campaigns may offer a broader reach and enhanced impact over television alone.
