Abstract:

The objective of this paper is to analyse the influence of specific variables related to the Work and Life balance in the job satisfaction and changes occurring with changing economic cycle. These variables are related to job quality or decent work. The Work-Life Balance brochure covers a wide range of flexible working arrangements made available to help staff achieve work/life balance. These arrangements include parttime work, family leave, parental leave and more. Using data from the Survey of Quality of Life in the Work of Ministerio de Trabajo, let's compare two periods, one in the expansive stage, 2006, and another, 2008, in the recession. Our hypothesis held that the use of decent work is not deteriorated in an economic crisis because of quality practices in the workplace are part of business management conceptions beyond the business cycle. To be effective, good management practices must involve the whole of the rest on business management and industrial relations system of balance between capital and labor. The advanced results indicate that there are no significant changes in perceptions of quality policies in the work, despite the economic cycle changes substantially and, in the Spanish case in particular, growth in unemployment is spectacular.
