Abstract:

In 1918 Dancy became the Executive Director the Detroit Urban League and remained its Director until 1960. Dancy, himself a social worker, expanded the black professional social work network through which the League ensured the delivery of needed social services to the black community. This paper will focus on Dancy and the contributions made in the area of social service delivery by the Detroit Urban League under his leadership.
