Abstract:

The African American entrepreneurs’ journey into mainstream American entrepreneurship can be mapped and modeled through an examination of the historical change process in America. The change process is consistently pushed forward and pulled backward by political and social agendas, and the color and gender of the advocates for or against the African American entrepreneurs’ journey into mainstream America microenterprise ownership. The interconnectness to these parts and elements are arguably the most critical factors in the history of the African American entrepreneurs’ journey on the road to their final destination, the ownership of a sustainable microenterprise that can compete in mainstream America. The parts and elements manifesting itself both overly and covertly in continue to require the legislation of laws and regulations that address African American entrepreneur journey.
The purpose of this paper is to explore the interconnection between the elements and parts of the laws and legislations; that appear to push the African American entrepreneur forward and pull them backward in American history that are linked to the history of the African American Entrepreneur’s journey into mainstream America entrepreneurship. The journey will take us back to Ancient Kamit (Egypt) to investigate the ancestral connection between those who built the first civilizations and modern man, specifically African Americans. This connection may possibly be the missing link that will adequately define the hidden untapped potential lying dormant in many African Americans aspiring to be entrepreneurs. These elements and parts create shadows they move across the wall of mainstream American entrepreneurs.
