Abstract:

“Our Learning Journey” is a collaboration of three years of leaning and documentation carried out by Romina De Grazia and Nicole Kolibac at St. Peter Chanel Regents Park with children from Kindergarten to Year 2.
Through the process of ‘Practitioner Inquiry’ we have explored and reflected on why we teach the way we do. We have questioned our past practices, tried new ideas and critically analysed the outcomes and changes to our learning environment. We have learnt a lot on this journey and would like to share some of our key findings and the questions we still have with other educators of young children.
The poster will demonstrate the following:
UNDERSTANDING CHILDREN: How has our understanding of young children’s learning developed? Resources accessed to help do this.

CHANGING PRACTICE: Examples of the changes we have made to our teaching practice. This will include data collected and analyses made.

PRACTITIONER INQUIRY: How the processes of practitioner inquiry have helped on this journey?

THE FUTURE: further questions/ areas we would still like to investigate.
