Abstract:

This paper is a reflection on human trafficking in sub Saharan Africa. It focuses on the internal aspects of human trafficking that has given way for the global menace of international human trafficking in persons. The nature and conduct of human trafficking, the internal or domestic causes coupled with the problems associated with human trafficking are given prominence. The main reason for concentrating on the internal or domestic nature of human trafficking is the lack of willingness by scholars to concentrate on the internal factors of human trafficking that have led to the problem of human trafficking globally. Finally this paper seeks to reflect on the nature of human trafficking in sub Saharan Africa through the lens of a human rights perspective, in order to examine issues concerning human trafficking in Africa.
