Project RITES: Using School and Classroom Factors that Impact Student Achievement as a Lens for Educator Professional Development

Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

A Value Added Model (VAM) was used to assess the extent to which
students' academic performance exceeded the predicted level based on
background characteristics. Schools that have higher VAM scores are
differentiated based on school organization, instruction practices and
climate. Each of these factors provides a rich data for diagnosing
professional development needs at the school level. This NSF sponsored
research is done in the context of a statewide implementation of innovative
strategies and materials for teachers.
