Master’s level skills in forensic psychology

Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

With the rise in interest in forensic psychology nationwide, more graduating seniors are considering training at the Master’s level. Successful Master’s programs must consider the type of education/training to provide in order to prepare graduates for future employment in forensic settings and/or future educational opportunities at the doctoral level. Programs must provide students with a solid clinical foundation in addition to knowledge of forensic populations. This is especially true in the preparation of students for practicum placements. Data will be presented from 72 program directors employed in forensic settings that highlight the training mandate of a Master’s program.
