Abstract:

Ally identity and positioning is often viewed as an integral part of anti-oppression work. We will examine the history of allies within anti-oppression movements, discuss its limitations in current feminist work in race, sexuality, and psychiatric disability and provide recommendations for evolving this approach. Attendee reflections will be encouraged.
