Abstract:

The main purpose of the proposal will be to examine the causes and effects of high Korean educational aspiration and to explore its transferability to U.S.A. The research method of the proposal will be literature review. The main findings of the proposal will be as follows. First, the causes of high Korean educational aspiration are related to the historical, social, and cultural factors. Further, it has both positive and negative sides. Finally, it can be transferred to U.S.A. because Americans are curious about why Korean students have performed very well both in the international educational assessment and in American schools and President Obama has frequently praised it, while this transfer is not easy since it is related to socio-cultural aspect of Korean history.
