Abstract:
|
Through a presentation of a spontaneous dance, the viewer will be introduced to the kinesthetic sensations that inform our existence, the texture of the muscle, the weight of the breath, and the connections between thoughts. The dance begins by listening, a practice for both the dancer and the viewer. Time builds awareness and we learn to read the signs of meaning. When the signs are recognized, trusted and honored, they influence the journey. The dancer's research connects mind and body and the cerebellum is valued as a partner to the cerebrum. The complexity of the body/brain and cerebrum/cerebellum partnerships underlies social constructs and cultural meaning. Through movement and words I will share insights into the senses, as key components in helping us to understand the mysteries of human existence. |
