Abstract:

Based on data analysis of related material, the article investigates the development of education research in Japan, and aims at the understanding of the themes and characteristics of it. The activities of education research societies and their research topics are collected, and the author try to point out the future trends and implications. The findings are: 1. Development: from implementation to meeting global challenges. 2. the main forces for education research in Japan are and official institutions, research societies by scholars and research institute of JTU (Japan Teacher Union).
3. Orientation: from theoretical to practical and comparative study.
