Understanding Support for Internet Censorship in China: An Elaboration of the Theory of Reasoned Action

The belief of blocking the website was measured by a single question: “I believe the website should be blocked”. Results
Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) procedures were performed to test the models.
Taking into consideration of interactions between latent factors and the fact that one
of the dependent variables is categorical, Mplus 5.2 (Muthén & Muthén, 2010),
known for its ability to handle complex relationships in SEM, was employed coupled
with maximum likelihood estimation with robust standard errors (MLR) and Monte
Carlo integration.

For the MLR estimator, no chi-square test statistic was directly reported, nor were
conventional model fit indices. Instead, the test for nested models in Mplus was
adopted to compare the log-likelihoods for the null and alternative models. Here, L0
