Framing in the ‘New Media Environment’: Fox News Channel (FNC) Covers the Bristol Palin Pregnancy

As a result of this rapid and messy process of re-framing (Couldry, 2003a; cf. Tuchman, 1978), FNC, reified its power, but on its own terms and within its own de-centered space. This polarized frame was further emphasized when McCain’s campaign advisor, Nancy Pfotenhauer, appeared on America’s Election Headquarters as a source (America’s, 2008).
