Abstract:

This presentation examines factors that help women resist the pressure to be thin. Emotional and physical self care strategies of women with positive body image are discussed, including engagement in positive ‘self talk,' avoidance of people and activities that make one self conscious, and prioritizing comfort and health over appearance.
