The Challenges of Researching Coping: A Feminist Critique of an Accepted Method

Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

Many researchers administer checklist measures of coping behaviors to investigate how people deal with stressors. The purpose of this poster is to critique this ubiquitous method through a feminist lens, exposing several flaws and potentially harmful assumptions. Suggestions will be offered for coping (no pun intended) with these problems.
