Abstract:

Young women with BRCA1/2 genetic mutations often face a conflict between prophylactic treatment decisions and childbearing preferences. The present study uses grounded theory methodology to explore the decisional processes and emotional responses of young BRCA-positive women as they balance these childbearing and medical priorities.
