Abstract:

The chronic pain/anxiety phenomenon are not discussed in the traditional medical model of Fibromyalgia. The psychological implications of the disease model and the role of agency in disorder recovery are reviewed. Coping strategies, cognitive distortions, and the lack of self-care and emotional management skills for female Fibromyalgia patients will be explored.
