Abstract:

Asian Indian women who date, usually do so without their parents’ knowledge because arranged marriage is the common practice in Indian culture. Cognitive dissonance, depression, and anxiety may result from acting against the values of Indian culture and lying to family. A case study will illustrate the issues encountered.
