Abstract:

This paper explores the discourses and treatment modes surrounding child sexual abuse (CSA). The author explores the creation of a “victim stereotype” and the image of “disabled” or “abnormal” survivors within these discourses. The highly gendered nature of CSA and the ramifications for treatment and “healing” are also discussed.
