Gender Roles and Ideology in Women from Former Soviet Republics

Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

Gender roles and ideology were explored in women born in the USSR, raised after collapse, and subjected to conflicting messages about femininity. Themes such as caretaking, indirect power, appearance, feminine demeanor, and personal development suggest that traditional roles prevailed over Soviet dogma.
