Abstract:

Over the past two decades, social scientists’ data based inquiries have largely ignored Jewish women's realities. This paper will present the qualitative data findings on the self-described Jewish identity of Ashkenazi, non-Orthodox, Jewish American women including: gender role expectations, minority experience, ethics, stereotypes and experiences of anti-Semitism.
