Abstract:

Using narratives, this study examines factors present in 10 women’s lives as they engaged in their first important sexual experience with another woman, when they overcame barriers to their authentic sexualities. Stories provide the basis for a discussion of ways women are enabled and empowered to authentically explore their sexualities.
