Abstract:

The study used quantitative and qualitative methods to assess relationship qualities among the friendships of individuals with a physical illness. Participants rated specific variables (i.e., support; conflict; depth) between a friendship with someone who had also experienced a physical illness and a friendship with someone who had never experienced illness.
