Abstract:

Using the acculturation framework, the present study examines differences in collective self-esteem across four acculturation strategies among adolescent girls. Results showed that girls with high levels of ethnic identity (integrationists and separationists) were better adjusted than girls who had low levels of both American and ethnic identities (marginalizationists).
