Abstract:

This presentation presents the results of a qualitative study of L2 writing instruction in Intensive English Programs and First Year Composition at two U.S. universities. Based on interview data, writing samples, and mission statements, the presenter will describe how notions of “language” and “writing” compare and contrast across these contexts.
