ESL All the Way Down: Reframing Fee-Paying International Students’ Impact on British Columbia’s K-12 Public Schools

Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Similar Titles

Abstract:

In this presentation I explore the impact of fee-paying international students (FIS) on ESL services in British Columbia’s public school system. I illustrate material and discursive connections between FIS presence and ESL delivery, and argue that ignorance of such connections in contemporary accounts of FIS impact should be closely scrutinized.
