Abstract:

This qualitative longitudinal study used semi-structured interviews to examine the importance of mentors and role models to women in graduate atmospheric science studies. Female mentors and role models are apparently most valuable when decisions about work and family are more salient, highlighting the importance of a longitudinal perspective.
