Abstract: A systematic review of the ten best-selling introductory psychology textbooks documented the relative use of evolutionary vs. social-structural frameworks to explain gender-related findings. All books applied each framework at least once. The frequency, credibility, and breadth of coverage of each framework varied widely across books. Implications are discussed.
