Abstract: This presentation explores the historical and contemporary trajectory of education in Africa- specifically examining current trends and the shift to indigenize education systems in the region. The presenter will address emergent issues in educational experiences, new findings and new research questions that are geared towards fostering quality and equity in African education. The presentation will also explore the challenges and prospects for innovative ideas and practices (such as those informed by indigenous epistemologies) in African education systems and/or research.
