Abstract: In April of 2008, UMass Lowell conducted a web-based survey of students regarding issues of campus safety. Students were asked about their perceptions of campus safety and related university services, actions taken to prevent victimization, and if they were the victim of six different crimes during the preceding semester: physical assault; sexual assault; harassment or stalking; hate crimes, theft, damaged, or vandalized property; and identity theft. Results of the survey are presented, along with response variation by key demographic characteristics of the respondents.
