Abstract: Traditionally, cultural fundamentals and beliefs were passed on from one generation to another by mouth. This changed significantly due to the formal schooling and various technological advancement that resulted to the change in the patterns of life in our societies among other reasons. The social media as one of the platforms for change is playing a big role not just in conveying humor but also in voicing the beliefs and cultural practices of our societies. This paper analyses the Maragoli community cultural aspects as potrayed in the "Mama Kevin" comedy. This comedy has found its audience of different ages through Facebook and You Tube, it touches on various issues that are evident in the Maragoli society hence the assumption that it's main purpose is not just to convey humour but also to communicate the cultural beliefs and practices of the community.
